Basic facts to know about the heart.
The heart has four chambers the two atriums and two ventricles.
The heart pumps 2000 gallons a day.
The heart pumps 100,000 times a day.
Heart Function
The heart function might sound confusing at first but all you need is a week and then you would easily know how the heart functions. So the blood passes from the right atrium through the Tricuspid valve to the right ventricle. Then the heart pumps the blood through the Pulmonary valve to the pulmonary artery and then to the lungs, where it gets oxygenated to return back to the heart through the pulmonary veins and from there to the left atrium and through the mitral valve to the left ventricle. From there it gets pumped and goes all around the body through the arteries.

Location of the heart
Your heart is about the size of your fist. It lies in the middle and slightly to the left of your chest.
Why is CPR important?
CPR is very useful because you never know when you might need it. CPR stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. CPR is only used when someone is:
-On the ground
-Not breathing
-Not responding
If you see somebody in this situation you should start CPR. If anybody is around you tell them to call the emergency service. Before you start CPR you have to check if the person is conscious or breathing. If not you have to start CPR. If you're doing CPR with the breath you need to compress 30 times on the chest, then give them breath 2 times, and keep repeating until the emergency service comes. If you want to do it without breath just keep compressing the chest until the emergency service comes.
